Search Lake Burton

Lake Burton is the largest of three Georgia Power lakes in the mountains of northeast Georgia. The other two lakes, Rabun and Seed, are smaller and even more exclusive than Lake Burton. Much of the available property is still “owned” by Georgia Power executives or their heirs. I put “owned” in quotations, because most of the properties are actually 99 year leases. This gives Georgia Power the opportunity to change things up if they want to down the road. The lake has some of the most beautiful properties available and the lakefront is characterized by fixed docks that are sometimes larger and more extravagant than the homes themselves. The lake has a fantastic “old lake” feel with frequent opportunities to see antique wooden boats that have been meticulously restored. All of this character does come at a price with lakefront lots starting around $1 million and many lakefront homes over $2 million.
